CHAPS is Proud to Celebrate
30 Years of Giving Hope to Those We Serve

The past year has presented us with many challenges. The Post Office Food Drive where we normally receive over 15,000 pounds of food did not happen and the WINK News Feeds Families Harry Chapin Food Bank Hunger Walk  was also cancelled.  The price of food, hygiene items and gasoline has gone up dramatically and the number of clients requesting services has increased.

On September 28th, 2022 this area of Southwest Florida took a direct hit from Hurricane Ian which changed the lives of thousands of people. The catastrophic damages were unlike anything most people have ever had to endure. Days without electricity, trapped by water in their homes or what was left of them, isolation, and a feeling of what am I going to do now paralyzed many people.

CHAPS lost power but had minimal other damage. The power came back on October 6th and on October 7th volunteers where here filling orders on schedule.  CHAPS continues to be ready to serve our clients as they piece their lives back together.

With the hard work of our dedicated volunteers, clients have been able to receive services without interruption (except in Aug. & Sept. 2004 due to Hurricane Charley) for over 30 years.  To help celebrate our 30 years of giving hope to our community, CHAPS is holding a virtual “Angel Walk” as a fundraiser.  We honor Charlie and Jeannie our angels who founded CHAPS and all the angels that have gone before us to light the way for those that are here today and all that are still to come. Help us to continue giving hope to our clients by donating to the CHAPS Angel Walk.

We have received pledges for $1,000 in matching funds for any money that we can raise.  The first $1,000 raised will be matched dollar for dollar.
We are an all-volunteer organization, so every dollar goes directly to assist our clients!
